The present study was conducted to know the seasonal variation of water quality parameters and also the seasonal diversity of zooplankton in the water bodies of Purulia District, West Bengal during the period March 2014 to February 2015. Water Temperature, Alkalinity and Hardness showed the highest value in Pre-monsoon season. Transparency was highest in Post Monsoon. Dissolve oxygen, Nitrate Nitrogen, Nitrite Nitrogen and Ortho-Phosphate showed the highest value in Monsoon. Five major groups like Rotifera, Copepoda, Protozoea, Ostracoda, Cladocera represented the zooplankton population of the studied water bodies.
