The internationally comparative research project Formazione alla cittadinanza per stranieri residenti in Italia deals with the theme of citizenship education. The ultimate goal of this FIERI (Forum Internazionale ed Europeo di Ricerche sull’Immigrazione) project is to compare how citizenship education is addressed in secondary education (i.e., pupils of 14-18 years old) in four different European countries: England, France, the Netherlands and Spain. The focus is on immigrant pupils and schools with a high proportion of pupils with an immigrant background.
