University, Sambalpur-768 004, Odisha, India Manuscript received online 21 June 2015, accepted 25 August 2015 The synthesis and characterization of a series of homo binuclear metal complexes of CuII, NiII and CoII with the titled ligand 3,4-diphenyl-5-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)-1,2,5-triazapenta-2,4-diene (DHTP) have been reported. The complexes have been synthesized by treating an ethanolic solution of the ligand with equimolar amount of appropriate metal salts in ethanol by a direct route and also by template synthesis using in situ method.
