THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN IT

More and more modern organizations related to information technology are trying to equalize the number of female and male employees. In society, it is still believed that IT jobs are preferable for men. This is confirmed by Statista’s workforce diversity research at GAFAM in 2020. GAFAM companies are the largest and most dominant companies in the information technology market: G - Google, A - Amazon, F - Facebook, A - Apple, M - Microsoft. According to the research, 25% of women are in data management positions at Microsoft, 26% at Google, 29% at Apple, 33% at Facebook, and 27% at Amazon. Directly in the role of technical specialists 20% at Microsoft and 23% at Google, Apple and Facebook (Amazon does not provide such data). As you can see, the majority of the Big Five employees are men. Have women really made very little contribution to information technology?
