Behaviour of persulphate in sulphuric acid solution of different concentrations has been studied by estimating its hydrolytic products, permonosulphuric acid and hydrogen peroxide. The method of estimation of these substances in presence of each other works well and the difficulty encountered by the previous workers has been solved. It is confirmed that first permonosulphuric acid and then hydrogen peroxide are formed as the concentration of sulphuric acid is increased. The graphical results show that there are two maxima for permonosulphuric acid and one for hydrogen peroxide.
