METHODOLOGICAL TRAINING OF FUTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS OF ENGLISH

In the article the technology of methodological training of future Primary School teachers of English for working in New Ukrainian School has been described according to the context approach. Particularly, the reasonability of context study for future teachers acquiring the ability to project, adapt, organize, motivate, research, and control educational, cognitive, pedagogical and developing aspects of Primary School pupils’ foreign language education has been substantiated. Furthermore, the peculiarities of methodological training of teachers capable to provide foreign language education for young learners at the appropriate level have been clarified. The purpose of the article consists in substantiating the technology of future Primary School English teachers’ methodological competence formation for working in New Ukrainian School from the viewpoint of the context approach. Methodology. Methodological basis of the article includes: fundamental positions of L. S. Vygotsky’s theory of activity, conceptual provisions of A. A. Verbitsky’s context teaching theory, activity approach to studies, theoretical generalization of diverse experience to use forms and methods of active study, theoretical positions of O. B. Bigych’s conception of Primary foreign language teacher’s methodological competence formation and conception of «New Ukrainian School». Scientific novelty consists in the fact that the position concerning context study potential to provide optimal implementation of methodological training of future Primary School English teachers for working in a New Ukrainian School has been substantiated for the first time. Conclusion. The context approach application creates optimal possibilities for Primary School English teachers’ methodological training for working in a New Ukrainian School: implementation of students’ advancing model from studying through paraprofessional and vocational activity to professional one allows them to act as subjects of methodological education; optimal proportion between individual and collective working forms provides future teachers with acquiring the ability to project, adapt, organize, motivate, research, and control educational, cognitive, pedagogical and developing aspects of Primary pupils foreign language education; problematic and investigative character of students cognitive activity and wide usage of professional situations during studying promotes the development of future Primary School English teachers’ methodological competence and teaching process optimizing
