Women in the United States face gender bias while seeking access to basic health care. Differences in care exist between men and women, which causes overall health decline. Gender bias also exists in the diagnosis and treatment options that are recommended to men and women, even though women are more proactive in the use of preventive care (Kent, 2012). Undergraduate students from California State University, Fullerton completed a survey about their demographics, external environment, personal health care practices and health status, and access to health care.
