Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi-110 007, India E-mail : bibheshksingh@yahoo.co.in Fax : 91-766-6250 Manuscript received 6 June 2005 The ZnII and CdII complexes of reduced glutathione (GSH) of general composition [M(L)(X)].nH2O (where LH2 = GSH; X = CI-, NO-3/CH3CO-2, and n = 1-2) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, electronic spectra and thermal studies. The complexes were found to be monomer and involved coordination through cystein sulphur and carboxylate oxygen giving tetrahedral geometry.
