The Tai Chi Chuan exercise originated in China as a martial art and is a gentle and vigorous exercise with low impact and intensity that involves slow and continuous body movements. The present study aims to conduct a systematic review of the effects of Tai Chi Chuan on the quality of life of individuals after stroke. A systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines. The following databases were used: Pubmed, Embase, Lilacs, Cochrane. The terms used were: stroke, tai chi chuan, chinese traditional exercise, quality of life and randomized controlled trials.
