The presented article substantiates the role and significance of the separation of powers in modern society and the state, consisting in the fact that this concept represents an instrument of limiting state power in order to protect the rights and interests of individual rights. As a rule, the separation of powers is opposed to the concept of autocracy, the concentration of power in the hands of one person or body.
