This document describes the activity of Task 3.3 of the HyCool Project on the experimental characterization of the modular hybrid heat pump. To this aim, a testing rig already available at CNR lab was used, which is equipped with high-accuracy sensors and is able to supply the temperature levels and power needed to simulate the operation of the system under a wide range of operating conditions, corresponding to the possible scenarios for its application in industries. In order to evaluate the performance of the system, the EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of the hybrid solution was calculated and compared to the EER that could be obtained by operating a traditional vapor compression chiller.
