SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH OF PERSONALITY AS A FACTOR OF DEVELOPMENT OF PEDAGOGICAL SCIENCE

The article deals with the importance of conducting scientific research of the creative works of outstanding scientists who made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian and world science, because no science can develop without systematic synthesis of the developed system of knowledge and, in particular, the processing of the creative heritage of its outstanding personalities. In recent years, many works have been published devoted to the study of issues related to the genesis, formation and development of Ukrainian pedagogical thought, the heritage of prominent scholars and educators, in which the historical and pedagogical issues of a particular historical period are analyzed in detail and methodological approaches of the use of acquired experience in modern educational process are revealed. The purpose of the article is to reveal the role of scientific and pedagogical research of the persononality in the development of pedagogical science on the example of the review of the activities of Professor S. S. Levishchenko. It was denoted among the main tendencies of the development of modern science: the recognition of the importance of the continuity and evolution of scientific formation, which determines the relevance of studying the creative works of leading experts of the past, and comprehension of the general pattern of the educational process in Ukraine as a coherent multifaceted phenomenon. The article analyzes the essence of the concepts of "scientific and scientific-pedagogical research", named the main criteria of the effectiveness of scientific and pedagogical research. It was denoted interpretation of the terms "personality" and "pedagogical personality" in particular by such researchers as O. Sukhomlynska, N. Hupan, M. Bohuslavskyi, V. Chyshko, N. Dichek and in various lexicographic sources, it is outlined the main approaches to the study of pedagogical personality. On the example of the review of the professional activity of the Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Serhii Serhiovych Levishchenko, it has been shown that from the point of view of the present, relevance, progressiveness, balance, thoroughness and creative use of scientific achievements of scientists are a valuable theoretical and methodological basis of modern scientific and pedagogical research
