The Moroccan development model considers education and innovation as important pillars to promote productivity, competitiveness and sustained growth. The country has implemented several strategies to improve access to education, modernize school facilities and train teachers, as well as increase the number of researchers and R&D expenditures. Improving the protection of intellectual property rights is also a positive initiative. However, there are still challenges to overcome to achieve universal education, reduce illiteracy, and train inventors.
