Evidence demonstrates that nurse engagement in evidence-based practice (EBP) results in improved patient outcomes and increased nurse satisfaction, yet many health care organizations struggle to support nurse participation in this work. A review of literature demonstrated that major barriers to EBP engagement include lack of time, EBP knowledge, and resources such as online databases, librarian assistance, and mentorship. The purpose of this project is to develop a one-year EBP Fellowship program for experienced nurses at an urban pediatric hospital.
