The article is dedicated to the problem of developing and increasing future translators’ social and cultural competence. It has been noted that the development of up-to-date methods is actual for specialists in the area of language education. The object of this research lies in social and cultural competences and means of improving them. The article also deals with the existing ways of increasing the specialists’ qualification and with the search for the new ones. The author has offered methods of updating theoretical and practical bases of a translator’s competence, which are necessary for modern crosscultural interaction.
