Surface irrigation technology, especially furrow irrigation, is the main method of irrigation in the arid zone. However, traditional methods of furrow irrigation have significant drawbacks, primarily in the uniformity of soil moisture along the length of the furrow. Despite improvements in the scientific foundations of irrigation technology, many other aspects of this scientific problem remain unresolved.
