ІДЕЯ НАЦІОНАЛЬНОГО СУВЕРЕНІТЕТУ В ПРАЦЯХ УКРАЇНСЬКИХ НАРОДНИКІВ (М. КОСТОМАРОВ, М. ДРАГОМАНОВ, В. АНТОНОВИЧ)

The development of the idea of national sovereignty in the works of the most prominent representatives of Ukrainian populists, M. Kostomarov, M. Drahomanov and V. Antonovich, is considered. The influence on the formation of the ideology of Ukrainian populists as Western concepts of national sovereignty, as well as on the specifics of the socioeconomic conditions of contemporary Ukraine and the traditions of domestic political philosophy and legal thought are shown. Compared to many contemporary European concepts of national sovereignty, the notion of sovereignty in the works of Ukrainian populists ceased to be state-centered and filled with more democratic content both in the internal (protection of the rights of the people, not only rulers), and external (ensuring the equality of all states in the sphere of international relations) the plans
