Soviet district press of Chernihiv region in 1932–1933: source study aspect

The purpose of the study is to analyze the Soviet district press of 1932–1933 as a source of studying the history of the Holodomor-genocide on the example of local press of Chernihiv region. The methodological basis of the study are the principles of historicism, objectivity, complexity and systematics. General scientific (classification, systematization, complexity) and special-historical (problem-chronological, retrospective, structural-functional, statistical) methods were used to perform the set tasks. The scientific novelty lies in the development of a topic that has not received comprehensive coverage in the historical scientific literature. The main informative directions in the district press of Chernihiv region are singled out and their qualitative indicators are established. That may be useful for studying the Holodomor-genocide. The analysis of the soviet district press of the Chernihiv region makes it possible to study various aspects of the events of 1932–1933 as a crime of genocide of Ukrainians.
