MENTAL AND AESTHETIC FEATURES OF CHURCH SINGING OF ORTHODOXY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE HISTORY OF UKRAINIAN MUSIC

It was established that with the help of church leanings Ukrainian musical culture became the personification of religious and aesthetic ideals and mental and worldview institutions of Eastern Christianity, which influenced the processes of national identification and put a characteristic imprint on the ethno-national mentality and spiritual culture of Rus-Ukraine for centuries. This study allowed to distinguish the historical and cultural meaning and content of Orthodox Church music as a phenomenon that personages the type of thinking and feeling of an Orthodox person and provides an idea of his worldview. The phenomenon of church music is revealed as a specific way of spiritual assimilation and emotionally figurative reflection of the worldview, which gives rise to an ethno-national type of artistic thinking and cultural self-identification of man
