Comparison of Problems Faced by Malaysians During Movement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional MCO (CMCO)

introduction The MCO was an essential move taken by the government to combat COVID-19 pandemic. However, the unprecedented restrictions imposed has affected the daily lives of the public. This study was conducted to determine the problems faced by the public during the MCO and CMCO. Methodology An online cross-sectional study using anonymous survey forms was distributed via social media on 17/4/2020–24/4/2020(MCO) and 5/6/2020–19/6/2020(CMCO). The results were analysed using SPSS Version 22 and presented as frequencies and percentages. Results [Refer to Poster]. Discussion / Conclusion In general, the percentage of people whom faced problems in MCO doubled in CMCO. Emotional difficulty being confined was the most reported problem. This is consistent with reports stating a third of calls received by crisis support organisations were psychologically-related. Inability to get basic necessities reduced almost half which may be explained by the loosening up of restrictions during CMCO. In conclusion, the public has experienced a multi-facet of dynamic problems which needs to be considered in future plans of MCO
