The article is an archeographic publication of the work of the Russian Byzantine scholar Gavriil Laskin “rus and Byzantium in mutual relations in the 11th century”, which is stored in manuscript in the fund of the Odessa Society of History and Antiquities (Fund V) in the Institute of Manuscripts of the Ukrainian V. I. Vernadsky National Library of the NAS of Ukraine. Based on the study of the document, it was established that Laskin prepared his essay on the history of Byzantine-Rus’ relations between 1894 and 1896 and sent it to one of the society members for review or publication in a periodical in “The Notes” (“Zapysky”). At that time, the article had been never published
