The correct selection of pollinators for self-infertile pear varieties not only increases fruit set, but also improves their quality, ensures the manifestation of all varietal characteristics. To study the mechanism and effect of incompatibility and select pollinator varieties from the parental forms and their hybrids in the collection of FRC SSC RAS, 11 repeated crossings were carried out and a quantitative characteristic of the growth of pollen tubes in pistils was obtained. On the basis of the experimental data obtained, a possible express method for selecting pollinators to determine the degree of compatibility of prospective parental pairs has been developed
