INTEGRATED APPROACHES TO GEOPOLITICS AND RISKS IN INTERNATIONAL POLITICS

The paper examines the nature and impact of geopolitics on the global oil and gas business. It shows the relationship between politics and what nature provides such as oil and gas and the interplay between and among nations, people and institutions within the framework of geopolitics. The paper adopts the secondary methodology in order to investigate the risks (impact) attached to geopolitics. Findings show that, the concept of geopolitics is so versatile and multidimensional, enveloped by a varying degree of risks. The paper concludes that geopolitics is a reality that all oil companies must face, bust most risks are faced in mostly politically and economically instable regions of the world. The paper recommends that, to deal with issues of risks in geopolitics, there has to be constant preparation for emergencies, slowing the growth of demand and increasing supplies among others
