Microgrid is cluster of distributed generation sources, storage systems and controllable loads. Microgrid can provide quality and reliable supply of energy to consumer. Microgrid can operate in both modes of operations that is grid connected mode and islanded mode. This implementation poses technical challenge of protecting the micro grid. Power quality, energy management, stability, power flow control, protection system and integration of various distributed generators are the major issues in the microgrid operation.
