To Question of Terminology of Sports Tourism

The article is devoted to the study of the terminology in sport tourism, first of all, from the point of view of social geography. The «sport tourism» definition has been analyzed and given, it is based on the components that make up this particular citizen, they are «tourism» and «sports». Sport tourism is defined as a component of a broader concept and it is an active recreation. The purpose of the article is to study the formation of the terminology in sport tourism and active recreation, their geographical component. The application of the terms «tourist» and «touristic» is considered, the advantage of the term «tourist» is determined. It is determined that in the recreational and tourist industry there is a permanent dynamic process in appearance of new and improvement in existing terms and concepts, therefore work on the creation of new tourist dictionaries is an important condition for the improvement of the tourist concept-terminology apparatus. In this case, the unambiguousness and clarity of the basic concepts interpretation and terms will avoid unwanted ambiguity and should contribute to the tourism geography and recreation development
