Introduction Surgical Site Infection (SSI) can be referred as the infection that occurs within about 30 days after a surgical operation and affects incision or deep tissues at the surgical site. This type of infection may be superficial or deep incisional infection or infection that includes organ or even body space (Mangramet al., 1999). SSI is one of the most common complications for the patients who undergo surgical procedures and the third most frequently occurring nosocomial infection in the hospital population.
