This study examines the social system of Indonesian short stories in Yogyakarta in the early days of the New Order (1966-1980). The goal is to obtain a significant picture of the existence of literary system (short story) at that time in order to compile (book) the history of Indonesian literature in Yogyakarta. The theory used is the macro-literary theory as developed by Tanaka. From the discussion of the social system (author, publisher, reader) it can be seen that the three systems are working side by side to build the existence of Indonesian short stories in Yogyakarta.
