ABSTRACT In all facets of mechanical design, stress concentration is a crucial factor. It produces from common geometric defects in the structure. This study uses two different materials as the plate has a central cutout subjected to a stress of uniform load (1000 N): Aluminum alloy & Titanium alloy were analyzed. Then, for four cases of thickness, the finding of each one are compared using the following methods: Graphical, Analytical and ANSYS software. Where the (maximum, nominal) Stress, Stress Concentration Factor (SCF). Moreover, the total deformation is measured by measuring the percentage error. The results of the SCF are very close, and the highest error rate for both matters was at (10mm) thickness, which is for aluminum (4.063%) ...
