The article reflects the application process of international law in solution of territorial conflicts of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia. The regime of international humanitarian law offers a certain level of protection for population, prosecuting alleged offenders for war crimes, such as rape, murder and torture, protecting civilian assets. However, the potential level of protection depends on the classification of the conflict.
