Body mass index (BMI) is a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of a person. The BMI is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height and is universally expressed in units of kg/m2, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in meters. This cross-sectional study was conducted among the patients presenting in the outdoor department of different hospitals. Name, age, gender, height, and weight of all the patients were noted on a predefined proforma. A total of 100 patients presenting in the emergency department were included in this study i.e., 50 males (50%) and 50 females (50%). The mean age of the patients was 31.45±3.22 years.
