Wing venation terminology is organized top-down from anterior to posterior-most structures. It is further organized by the two major wing venation patterns observed in species belonging to MCM-type (i.e., Metallyticus, Chaeteessa, Mantoida, and some fossil species; cells shaded blue) and Mantis-type (e.g., Mantis religiosa; cells shaded orange).
