Results of diffusion saturation of steels and titanium alloys with boron and other elements under cathodic and anodic electrolysis plasma are considered. Processing regimes and electrolytes compositions, structural features of modified layers, their microhardness, surface roughness, as well as data of tribological and corrosion tests in various environments are presented. The treatment conditions are found to significantly increase the wear resistance and corrosion protection of structural steels and titanium alloys. A conclusion is made on the prospects of electrolytic-plasma treatment; plasma electrolytic boriding has proven its potential; the advantages and limitations of the method are noted, including promising areas for further resear...
