This blog outlines a key outcome of the Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC) Project that set up a bi-lateral data access agreement between the UK Data Service and GESIS. This agreement allows researchers in the UK to access a range of sensitive data held by the GESIS Secure Data Center via the UKDS SecureLab Safe Room in Essex, UK, and researchers in Germany to access a range of sensitive data held by the UK Data Service SecureLab via the Safe Rooms in Cologne and Mannheim. The connection went live in April 2022 and welcomed its first researcher visit later that year
