The contamination of agricultural soils by the toxic trace metals arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) was investigated in an industrial district in Vietnam. In this district, irrigation agriculture is conducted via channels; additionally, there are two industrial parks on nearby agricultural land. The purpose of the study was to clarify the magnitude and spatial distribution the trace metal concentrations, the source of the trace metals, the difference was in concentration between the two industrial park areas, and the usability of the soils for agriculture.
