This study compared the conventional and certificate of occupancy methods of registration of ownership in Oyo state, Nigeria. Primary and secondary data were used for the study. Two sets of interview guides were administered to elicit relevant information for the study. Purposive sampling procedure was used in the selection of the beneficiaries of the programme. 1000 interview guides were administered to elicit primary data such as efficiency of C of O redefined in term of procedure, cost and time compared to the conventional approach.
