The question of the phraseology of the official-business style at the stage of formation remains little investigated, which determines the relevance of this article. The objective is to study the phraseology, which was formed in the official-business style of modern Ukrainian language during the 20-30-s of the twentieth century. The source is the dictionaries business speech and documents. The main task is to analyze the phraseology of the official-business style of the Ukrainian language; find out the factors of its origin; to identify features, its productive components. Scientific research has made it possible to assert that the documents are characterized by the productivity of official-business phraseology, which describes mainly socio-political life on the basis of the introduction of state-building processes in the country. The phraseology reflects the political events of that time, and also indicates the management activity and functioning of state institutions and organizations. The official business phraseology was formed by the using of foreign language vocabulary and Ukrainian basis. Ukrainian business phraseology has been negatively influenced by the Russian. Language patterns make up a significant layer of book-phraseology of the official-business style, often they are terminological phrases – complex new nominations of that time. The clichés of this period are characterized by semantic signs due to the rise of various branches of science, culture, technology, the introduction of important codification processes for society, which appeared in the following areas: economic, trade, stationery, judicial, educational, labor protection and land management. The prospect of further research is the need for a comprehensive study of the phraseology of the official-business style that was formed during the period investigated by us
