HISTORICAL ASPECTS AND GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF ERGONOMICS IN INDUSTRY

The English Industrial Revolution transformed the mode of production, in the fifteenth century where England lived under the feudal system, operating from agriculture and small handicrafts, as well as the strength of the peasant worker without the application of any ergonomic factor. In definition, Ergonomics is the science that studies the adaptations of the workplace in a specific context. Thus, this work aimed to portray the historical aspects and general principles of ergonomics in industry 4.0, identifying its importance and benefits. The research was carried out from a review of the specialized literature, consulting scientific articles published between the years 1986 until the most current 2023. Ergonomics tends to follow revolutions as well as enjoy the attributes provided by them. Ergonomics in industries is of paramount importance in order to increase and improve the physical and mental well-being of employees, since these actions are related to several segments, being environmental, social, ergonomic, among others, bringing an individual and collective good, and ergonomics together with industry 4.0 can improve the quality of life of these workers
