Comparative Analysis of Innovations in Alfamart and Indomaret Minimarkets: A Study in Indonesia

Minimarket is one of modern retail types that has a shopping recreation concept by offering various innovations, facilities and products as well as being close to residential areas. Generally, in Indonesia and specifically in Bandung, there are two dominating minimarkets, namely Alfamart and Indomaret. This study aims to determine the differences of innovation in Alfamart and Indomaret based on the perspective of customers in the city of Bandung. The population of this study were people who had shopped at Alfamart and Indomaret minimarkets with a research sample of 200 respondents. This research uses the analysis method of independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was no significant difference between overall innovations at Alfamart and Indomaret. The results of this difference are indicated by the probability value (sig-t) of 0.52 which is above the level of significance with the parameter 0.05 so that Ho is accepted. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference between innovations in Alfamart and Indomaret minimarkets where the average innovation Alfamart is 40.78 while the average innovation for Indomaret is 40.1
