Tetraethyleneglycoldiacrylate as a selective extractant for Na+ using liquidliquid extraction

Tetraethyleneglycoldiacrylate was immersed in various membranes viz. 1,2-dichloroethane, chloroform and carbontetrachloride. The podand is specific for Na+ in its pseudocyclic cavity. Onp– is found as an efficient anion than others during extraction. These results could give an important suggestion to design thenoncyclic ionophore with ion selectivity
