The microindentation experimental tests were carried out on Aluminum 6061-T6 films. A comparative study between the estimation of Martens hardness and that of indentation is implemented, through the mathematical modeling of these two hardnesses respectively. The indentation size effect is a determining factor in characterizing the hardness of the material studied. This phenomenon is dependent on the macrodureté which corresponds to the hardness obtained by the application of an infinite load. To take into account the deformation modes around the imprint, the indentation hardness is used unlike Martens' hardness which shows its limit, especially since the measurement scale is small.
