Template synthesis of alkaline earth metal complexes of oxa-azamacrocycles derived from P-diketones

Department of Chemistry, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur-302 055, Rajasthan, India E-mail : rnp _1949@yahoo.co.in Manuscript received 08 October 2010, revised 07 April 2011, accepted 20 April 2011 Complexes of the type [MLCl]Cl (where M = Mgll, Call, SrII an BaII ; L = N2O3 type macrocycle having IS-membered ring) have been synthesized by 1 + 1 cyclocondensation of l, 13-diamino-4, 7,1 0-trioxatridecane and β-diketones such as 2,4-pentanedione, 1-phenyl-1,3-butanedione or 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione in the presence of Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+ and Ba2+ ions as templates. These have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements and IR, 1H NMR and FAB mass spectra
