ackground: Visfatin is a newly discovered adipocytokine. There is conflicting data regarding visfatin in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Aim: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the possible alterations of serum levels of visfatin in patients with GDM. Subjects and Methods: 50 pregnant women were enrolled in the study, were divided into two groups; group I included 30 pregnant women with GDM and group II included 20 age and body mass index-matched pregnant women with normal glucose tolerance (NGT).
