Intertextuality was introduced during the 70´s as a concept in Literary Studies and especially in studies on the narrative technique. Since then references to intertextuality became more and more frequent, although that evolution never led to a generally accepted definition of the concept under discussion. Important divergences continue to exist in that respect. However, there are two different standpoints (radical and moderate) that have been established. The present paper will focus only on the second, moderate standpoint represented by attempts at clarifying and systematizing inter-textual relationships at the single-text reference level. Such a line proves to be fruitful in practice, that is, in concrete text analyses
