D6.1 First Annual Report on PID Commons and Sustainability

The first report on FREYA’s sustainability takes a wide view of the meaning and requirements on sustainability that the context of the project imply. The “what”, “who” and “how” of sustainability are analysed in turn. Facets of sustainability are identified, and the EOSC understanding of its components is discussed. The role of stakeholders is clarified, and the use of background context is discussed (whether the evolving forms of the EOSC, or what can be learnt from previous endeavours and interpretations of sustainability). A concrete plan is put forward for the next cycle of work, which will lead to emergence of the structures and mechanisms of sustainability and their relation to the PID Commons. The FREYA project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 777523
