The Effect of Knowledge Sharing and Knowledge Management on Member Competence and its Impact on Member Performance: Study in Kodam Iskandar Muda

: This study is to test the effect of knowledge sharing and knowledge management on member competencies and its impact on member performance. The object of this research is Kodam Iskandar Muda, located in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The population is its member (employee) as much as 297 people. The sample is taken using cencus method, so the amount is alos 297 people as respondents. The verification of causality test uses structural equation modeling (SEM). The indirect effect is tested using Sobel test. The result shows that knowledge sharing effects member performance significantly, knowledge management effects member performance significantly, knowledge sharing effects member competence significantly, knowledge management effetcs member competencies significantly, member competence effects member performance significantly, knowledge sharing does not effect member performance through member competence, and knowledge management does not effect member performance through member competence. These findings support the realm of science that prove the causality theories. The originality rests in the collaboration of the previous models, and in using SEM as a statistical approach to test the effect among variables.
