La ciudad transmoderna: perspectivas de nuevo paradigma.

The essay presented here is derived from the academic research work performed under Gianni Baietto´s tutoring, resulting in the thesis: New City Paradigm: Digital Era written by Margherita Valle Pilia. This analytical conceptual work and theoretical position, looks to be an addition to the international debate about contemporary city problems. Most of the content of this publication has been adapted from Valle´s thesis material. The arguments offered here are based upon an alternative urban system approach, outlining its conceptual and methodological platform in the holistically vision of the emerging paradigm. A comprehensive and integrated city that responds to an ecocentric line of thought and encourages the recovery of ethical values that have been lost with modern urbanism. A transmodern city, representing the moment of transition from industrial to post-industrial society, enriched with new productive forces: information and knowledge. What is more, a city that seeks to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, based on a contextual humanism that specifies a social state model and promotes relational and interactive human activities through new experiential synergy patterns, as described throughout the essay: Smart, Open and Slow
