МІСТА-ГЕРОЇ УКРАЇНИ: ПРАВОВИЙ СТАТУС ТА МІСЦЕ У ПАТРІОТИЧНОМУ ВИХОВАННІ

The Russian-Ukrainian war, which has been going on for 8 years, has become a catalyst for the process of reforming Ukraine's reward system, as well as the system of patriotic education. After the open armed aggression, which began on February 24, 2022, the honorary award "Hero City of Ukraine" was established to celebrate the resilience of citizens identified in the defense of their cities. The establishment of such an award is a novelty for the sovereign Ukrainian state and requires a comprehensive study, particularly in the legal field. The article is devoted to determining the legal status of the award "Hero City of Ukraine" and the possibility of using the fact of establishing and awarding this award in the process of patriotic education of citizens of Ukraine. The article examines the history of the award "Hero City", its current status. According to the results of the study, the authors provide recommendations for improving the legal status of the award "Hero City of Ukraine" and suggest ways to use this award in the process of patriotic education, which is carried out by the central executive bodies of Ukraine
