This paper approaches the issue of the philosophical “place” and the origins of freedom. The relationship between “freedom” and “alienation” will be explored through the study of four authors: Hegel, Marx, Lukács, and Honneth. The manifestation of freedom is analyzed as regards three interrelations: one with self, one with others, and one with the world
