Uttarakhand a hilly state came in existence on 9th November 2000. It is a state in the northern part of India. The state consist a typical topography, so it is, divided into two mandals i.e. Garhwal and Kumaun mandal. The first mandal consist seven districts, while the later consist six districts. The study area is Kumaun mandal, which has only one districts, which is partially plane area i.e. Nainital. The other districts of Kumaun mandal are hilly. If we see the historic prospective of economic development of Uttarakhand, it was a backward part of Uttar Pradesh, which was its mother-state.
