Heritage and Education: from Vision to Action. Case Study: Cărbuna – the Community Where Cultural Heritage Is Highlighted

The article reviews certain conceptual outlines of heritage, cultural heritage, and heritage education. It argues that the revitalization of cultural heritage and of its role in the future of society, in a national and international context, is an imperative of our time. The article analyses the curricula of such disciplines as Romanian and Universal History and Discover Moldova from the perspective of heritage education. Moreover, it discusses opportunities of valorizing components of the cultural heritage in the educational process. Additionally, it presents a number of best practices in the promotion and development of cultural heritage in the Cărbuna village, Ialoveni district, including the role of the school in this process
